Goya offers some fixed price packages to review your system in various levels of detail. This can be something you book yourself, or if we’ve been in conversation we may direct you to one of these packages as our recommended next step. Either way, there is always something of value in these, especially if it’s been a while since you had an outside developer look at your business and the software it uses.
FileMaker Integration Review
The FileMaker Integration Review is the first step in the analysis of a FileMaker system before doing new development or when looking to integrate FileMaker into another application. This is the first step in looking at how your FileMaker solution functions, and is often suggested by Goya prior to starting development work, but is also requested by clients looking to get a better idea of what their solution does and how it does it, prior to more detailed analysis or development..
With the Integration Review, we connect to the FileMaker Server and look at the setup, take a backup archive or a copy of the Database Design Report, and we run our Analysis tools over the solution.
After this review we will report back to you with our analysis results, showing errors, unreferenced items and warnings across your solution.
We will recommend any changes to FileMaker licences, upgrades or backups that we identify.
Once complete, we will have enough information to give you estimates of future development, and also directions for where to go next with the FileMaker platform in your business.
For this review we will need :
- Access to the FileMaker Server ( either remote or direct FMS Admin ).
- Full Access account and passwords or at a minimum a copy of the FileMaker Database Design Report.

FileMaker Health Check
The FileMaker Health Check is a more detailed analysis than the Integration Review, looking in detail at areas other than just future development. It covers Security of not just the FileMaker Server and Pro platforms, but how FileMaker is integrated into the rest of the business, and how it’s accessed from outside by staff, clients, or the public.
We cover all aspects of the reliability and maintenance of the system and will recommend changes to make sure your system keeps running at a level that meets the needs of the business.
Review includes :
- Backups – local and offsite, retention periods, accessibility, restoration process.
- Security – Admin access, FileMaker Pro, file security, external access, software patches.
- Connections – FileMaker Pro, Web Direct, Data API, ODBC, plugins.
- Deep assessment of the Database Design Report to look at the state of the system and the optimal path for any future development.
- Aspects of the system that would hold back upgrades or migrations, and how to remedy those.
Our Design Report analysis covers everything that your solution does, and looks at errors, unused functionality, warnings and performance recommendations. It gives us granular detail about what parts of the system are accessible and to what users, accounts, access methods, as well as highlighting any concerns around coding and development practices.
At the completion of the FileMaker Health Check we deliver a report with our recommended next steps in three stages :
- Critical issues to be addressed as soon as possible.
- Short term improvements.
- Long term plans over the next 5 years,
This review may include up to 2 hours on site, if required, and more time can be added on request. We may suggest adding more time if there are complex integrations involved and we feel that they need attention to be fully covered. We can also tailor this review to concentrate on specific issues in the above list as requested, and can add in other areas if there are other aspects of the system that are a concern.

Business Analysis Workshop

The outcome of the Workshop is a plan to get the most of out of your employees, make them more effective and efficient and maximise your businesses potential.
